Bean counter 是指公司裡精於計算、只在意財務數字和利潤的會計師或會計人員，有時帶貶義。為了省錢、美化帳面數字，他們大多只專注於細微末節及微不足道的開銷與支出，而忽視公司更大和更遠的發展。
這個慣用語的起源有多種憑空想像的說法，但最合理的說法是，它是德文字 Erbsenzähler 的翻譯。這個德文字早在 1660 年代就已在使用，其英文翻譯為 “pea counter”。不過，bean counter 於 1970 年代才首次使用於英文中，複數為 bean counters。
