Might 最常用來表示可能性。它也經常用於條件句 (might 係 may 在條件句中的用字)。雖然 might 亦可用來提出建議或請求，但這種用法在美式英語比較少見。
例句：
- Kevin might be in the library, or perhaps at the dormitory. (凱文可能在圖書館，也有可能在寢室) － 可能性
- If I didn’t have to go on a business trip, I might go to your birthday party. (如果我不必出差，我就可以參加你的生日派對) － 條件句
- You might spend one hour every day studying English. (你可以每天花一小時學英文) － 建議

Might 的現在、過去和未來時態用法

注意：“Might not” 和 “Could not” 的意思並不相同。Might not 意為「可能不；也許不」，而 Could not 意為「不可能」。
