Talk the talk 和 walk the walk 幾乎都是一前一後被說出口或被用在一起，但前者通常用肯定，而後者則用肯定或否定，視其所要表達的意思而定。譬如說，「肯定的 talk the talk」+「肯定的 walk the walk」意為「說到做到」或類似的意思，而「肯定的 talk the talk」+「否定的 walk the walk」意為「說一套做一套」、「光說不練」或類似的意思。
