說明：selfie 亦意為「自拍照」。自拍的動作，英文叫做 to take a selfie / to take selfies。-ie 的發音同 barbie 的 -ie。

例句：

selfie 衍生字 妙趣橫生

selfie (自拍；自拍照) 一詞獲牛津字典選為 2013 年度風雲字。這一年來，selfie 從社群網站的時髦單字，躍居為指稱自己拍攝照片的主流簡略用語。

Selfie 一詞最早出現在 2002 年澳洲的網路論壇上，2004 年在照片分享網站 Flickr 上則有 ＃selfie 的標籤 (hashtag)，但直到 2012 年出現在主流媒體後，才廣為流行。這個單字已在 8 月間加入牛津網路字典，未來可能納入更傳統的牛津英語大辭典中。

牛津字典編輯總監茱蒂‧皮爾梭 (Judy Pearsall) 解釋說，剛開始這個字的結尾是 y，但 ie 已經變成更常見、更多人使用的結尾。以 ie 結尾很有意思，因為它就像是個暱稱，把其實很自戀的行為轉化成讓人喜愛的事。

皮爾梭說，在澳洲英文中，有些單字結尾會拼成 ie (如烤肉 barbecue 拼成 barbie，消防員 firefighter 拼成 firie)，或許說明了 selfie 這個字源自澳洲。牛津字典通常會針對美國和英國選出不同的年度風雲字，但 selfie 兩國都通用。

目前 selfie 已經衍生出許多類似的字，妙趣橫生，如 helfie 意指自拍頭髮，belfie 為自拍臀部，drelfie 是拍下自己「喝茫」的樣子。就連家具也有相關應用，如 bookshelfie。

好人卡

說明：據傳好人卡起源於某男子向心儀的少女告白，但被對方以「你是個好人，但我們不能在一起」為由婉言拒絕了。從此，「你是個好人」就成為男子被女子拒絕或女子被男子拒絕交往的代名詞。而「被發了好人卡」也就是被心儀的對象拒絕了的意思，至於付出很多但卻被對方拒絕交往的人，則被稱為「好人」(相對名詞為「壞人」)。好人文化是 1990 年代之後在台灣等地發展出來的一種網路次文化，與男女交往問題有關。
