Ask 和 request 當動詞時都有「請求，要求」的意思，ask 可當及物和不及物用，若當不及物，其後接介系詞 for，而 request 僅當及物用。就此意思而言，ask 為通用字，而 request 是表示比較正式和客氣的字。「他要求要見醫生」可以說 He asked for meeting with the doctor. 或 He requested meeting with the doctor 或 He asked/requested permission to meet with the doctor.
不合語法。當兩個動作並非同時發生，即先後發生，而且要使用 when 時，when 須用瞬間動詞，也就是 when 須用過去簡單式。

這裡的total可以寫成totally嗎？
我用google查詢，totally X years, totally X dollars都有人用，但好像total比較多人使用。

寫完文章後，原參考資料已經丟掉。您可用 “cultural appropriation colonialism” google 一下。OED 會不定時或在年底公布新收錄的字詞，cultural appropriation 是出現在 OED 網站 2017 年初新增的字詞中。
