您好，一直對此句型感到困惑。A strong rocord of paying dividends to share holders.這是原句。想請問可否寫成 A strong rocord which pays dividends to share holders. 因為就自己的直覺會想用which，of後可接形容，which後也可接形容。翻成中文都是"什麼...的"。兩個差別在哪?要如何運用?謝謝。

A strong rocord of paying dividends to share holders 這個句型就像 a box of wood (木箱)、a house of stone (石屋)、a matter of importance (重要事件 － an important matter) 或 a man of ability (有能力的人 － an able man) 一樣，是由 of 後面的名詞 (片語) 來修飾前面的名詞，即 "paying dividends to share holder" 修飾 record，但不能用 which。關代 (當主詞或受詞) 前面需有相應的先行詞，但這裡沒有。A strong rocord which pays dividends to share holders.這句不通，因為付給股東紅利的並非 record。

It is not necessary for you to add "is" before "falling" because "an apple falling to the ground" is a noun phrase used as an object of the second "as" (preposition).

Which is your best friend, Tom or Mike? 不對，因為當代名詞用的 which 不能指人，但我們可以將之改為 Which one is your best friend, Tom or Mike? 或是用 Who is your best friend, Tom or Mike?
Which drink 和 Which drinks 分別意為「哪種飲料」和「那些飲料」，由於後面有 coffee or tea，所以在此只能用 which drink。

1. 這裡的 on 相當於 about，所以不能用 of 來替代 2. police 是註在內湖區，不像公園、道路是屬於內湖的一部分，所以不能用 of 來替代 3. lacking desired skill 是用來修飾 graduates，它與 lacking desired skill 沒有所屬關係。

ready made 必須加連字號，否則在使用上可能會被誤解意思或被認為拼字錯誤。Readily made 如果放在 BE 動詞後面是可以的，如 The medicine is readily made. (這藥是現成的)。至於 ready-made 為何不是 readily-made，應該跟從一開始就這樣使用，恐怕沒有多少人能弄清楚原因。

get started 是個很常用的口語，其中 get 是連綴動詞，started 是過去分詞形容詞 (過去分詞當形容詞用)。這種結構在英文中相當常見，如 They will get married next month. (他們下月要結婚)。

in 意為「穿著」，所以穿什麼衣服一定要用 in，如 a man in uniform 身穿制服/黑衣服的男人 ，with 意為「擁有，帶著;，穿戴著」，如 a man with glasses 戴眼鏡的男人，這裡不能用 in。有時兩者都可以，如 in a hat 和 with a hat，但前者帽子一定帶在頭上，後者則不一定，如 with a hat in hand。scarf 用 in 或 with 都可以。

寫完文章後，原參考資料已經丟掉。您可用 “cultural appropriation colonialism” google 一下。OED 會不定時或在年底公布新收錄的字詞，cultural appropriation 是出現在 OED 網站 2017 年初新增的字詞中。
