今年學測英文作文考題, 延續這幾年來的考法, 由四格漫畫來寫作的方式, 讓人看了會心一笑, 可謂立意良善, 但卻被考生譏評作畫技巧粗糙, 也讓入闈出題老師感到相當壓力.
其實, 四格漫畫講究的是創意, 訣竅在於起、承、轉、折, 繪製技巧需要相當素描基礎, 結合老師原創的故事敘述, 轉化成為四格漫畫呈現, 第一格敘述故事發生之時空背景和人物, 第二格置入事故發生, 第三篇接續事故之應對, 但是到了最後, 也就是第四格, 則需要有鋒迴路轉, 讓人恍然大悟, 或是引人爆笑的結局.
反過來, 學生在應答時, 要能出揣摩老師出題之原意, 將圖形轉化為文字, 再翻譯成英文, 等於經過兩道過程. 首先要習於漫畫之表現, 所以平時應該看看漫畫以熟悉漫畫表現手法和慣例, 然後練習敘述故事, 再轉化成為英文表現. 由於出題時第四格常被空出, 這是用來考驗學生的創意, 故事的大綱不變, 但結局可以千奇百怪, 所以特別有趣., 而是否能夠創造出人意表的結局, 有時要靠靈感和天份.
除了繪圖技巧以外, 如何修改, 如何對話, 如何框架以完稿, 可以利用電腦掃描和繪圖軟體, 時常練習, 可以做出和專業不相上下的作品, 甚至可以上色裱裝, 成為展覽比賽作品.
所以下次入闈時, 何妨讓專業漫畫家進入參與, 術業有專攻, 可以提供很多助益, 包括構圖以及完稿, 省了出題老師很多麻煩. 不然, 就讓專業漫畫家廣為高中開辦短期漫畫講習班, 提供英文老師從素描、構圖到成品漫畫之訓練, 出考題就能派上用場, 平時也能增添生活情趣.. 020911

我用google查詢，totally X years, totally X dollars都有人用，但好像total比較多人使用。
用 totally，因為 6 years 是一段時間，並非累加而成的「總共6年」。若要表示總共，可用當名詞用的 total，如「6 years in total」或「a total of 6 years」。所以，您的句子應用 totally 6 years (整整6年)。

寫完文章後，原參考資料已經丟掉。您可用 “cultural appropriation colonialism” google 一下。OED 會不定時或在年底公布新收錄的字詞，cultural appropriation 是出現在 OED 網站 2017 年初新增的字詞中。
