Oh wow, most people can do that, why only him and not others, he's not the best some people are better. It's like he's bragging or someone bragging about how good he is. It is annoying. It's not a big deal. Just keep it to themselves. [Just saying not really thinking about that]

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defense have not arrested the plow, the shuttle, or the ship; the ax has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. ... I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression

Of which 等於 whose,但當先行詞為人時,不能用 of which,只能用 whose,或 of whom。由於 only two 是指前面那七個人(seven individuals)中的兩個,所以在此用 of which 是有點問題,至於 only two (individuals)是省略 individuals 的結果,原本是限定詞,省略individulals 後就變成名詞。關於 one of whom 是指這兩個女性中的一人,whom 就是 these two women,但這裡不能用 whom,因為 only one 前面有 連接詞 and,所以必須用 one of them。我們可以寫成: only two were female and only one of them was fertile. 或 only two were female only one of whom was fertile.”

  1. 想請問
I met with a friend which I had never seen for total 6 years.

若要表示總共,可用當名詞用的 total,如「6 years in total」或「a total of 6 years」。

    1.「Cultural appropriation
