由於MD/JD的課程具有相當紮實的專業性訓練，在米國有相當多的州都要求報考律師的人必需具有JD資格，想當然耳，所謂的「價值」就是在這裡。
JD的中譯名或許應該譯為「法律博士」或「法律」士，但決不能稱為「法學博士」或「法學」士。它的訓練重點並不是法學而且是法律，而且它也並不是一個學士學位。

寫完文章後，原參考資料已經丟掉。您可用 “cultural appropriation colonialism” google 一下。OED 會不定時或在年底公布新收錄的字詞，cultural appropriation 是出現在 OED 網站 2017 年初新增的字詞中。
