A：Of an evening/of a weekend/of a Sunday morning 意為「通常在晚上/通常在週末/通常在週日上午」(當副詞用)，如 He often comes to see us of an evening. (他通常在晚上來看我們)；David often works overtime of a weekend. (大衛經常在週末加班)；They always like to go there of a Sunday morning. (他們總是喜歡週日上午到那裡去)。當然，evening 亦可換成 afternoon 或 morning，而 Sunday 也可換成 Monday, Tuesday, … 等。這類片語純屬英式英語的用法，儘管它們目前仍時有所聞，但都已轉為文學上的用語。
Evenings (= every evening) 意為「每晚」，Sundays (= every Sunday) 意為「每週日」，而 Sunday mornings (= every Sunday morning) 意為「每週日上午」，如 I work evenings. (我每晚工作)；I’m so tired in the evenings, and all I want to do is sit and watch television. (我每天晚上都累得什麼事都不想做，只想坐下來看電視)；They go to church Sundays. (他們每週日都上教堂)；We usually go to the theater on Sunday mornings. (我們週日上午通常去看電影)。
雖然這些字和片語都是當副詞用，但 evenings 以及 Sundays 和 Sunday mornings 的前面仍可分別加上介系詞 in 和 on (美國通常不加)。當然，evening 亦可換成 afternoon 或 morning，而 Sunday 也可換成 Monday, Tuesday, … 等。
同樣地，night 也可以如法炮製，加上 s 變成副詞，如 She lies awake nights. (她每晚躺在床上都睡不著)。
